The No. 9 Universal Button Punch is used to indent several thicknesses of metal, forming a 3/8 dia. button or dimple that holds the pieces together securely. A common use is on standing seams on roofs to make a watertight fastening. The head of the punch rotates to any position. The ends of the jaws are offset at a 30 angle, permitting close quarter work and a clear view.

Cutting: One stroke in 11 gauge material up to 1 1/2” wide.
Bending: A perfect right angle. Capacity 16 gauge.
Punching: Any size hole up to 1/2” through 11 gauge mild steel.
Twisting: Gives full 90° twist automatically with one stroke of the lever. No attachments needed.
CARE: Oil at hinge points, punch guide hole in the lower handle, and punch point. This is all the care
necessary.
OPERATION: To change punch, remove die and eccentric bolt (item 25). Pull upper handle assembly
back to release punch from eccentric arm slot allowing punch to drop from tool. Put new punch in from
bottom through guide hole and move eccentric arm forward until punch slot is engaged in eccentric arm.
Replace lower handle screw and die.
Dies are threaded into lower handle. To avoid breakage, use die key to remove die or screwdriver wide
enough to engage both slots. Die should be set high enough so punch can remove slug.
